It's 1 red block program that makes you run without holding down B button. Also a small tidbit: Look up program vendor in Sci Lab 3 for auto run.
Look up the "compression codes" for navi customizer too, it's a must. It'll speed up your liberation mission times considerably.ĪBUSE number trader and navi customizer as soon as they are available, they are a lifesaver. Once you open nebula gates, trapped mystery datas become ever more frequent so for green mystery data farming purposes, pop one when you jack in, scour the entire net and farm GMD's, jack out, rinse and repeat.ĭo your best to salvage battle green mystery datas, they mostly contain zenny and bugfrags and sometimes chips with good codes, which you'll DESPERATELY need early on.Ĭopy DMG and life synch chips are absolute must in liberation missions, find Copy Dmg as early as possible and preset it. Untrap is useful after first liberation mission because "trapped mystery datas" only appear from ACDC area 3 onwards. Unlockers are only needed for Purple Mystery Data and there are only a few of them in whole game so look up how many of them there is in game total and buy accordingly. Anything bigger than 50 MB is just flavor.
Most people use Fast Gauge or Full Custom for it. Preset chips have a red border in chip folder and always appear first place in battle chip draw. These will allow you to preset better chips as you get more reg ups. Besides HP Ups, you'll find another type of upgrade: REG UP's, to a total of 50 MB. Worst ways? Everything else until you get the necessary stuff. Exceptions exist, like getting bad foldr extra folder and then using higsby chip service, or comparing libraries with another save file / cart. Stuff like Meteors, Blackwing etc can only be bought once from such vendors. Zenny is only to be used on two things: HP Ups and one of a kind mega chips every net chip vendor. As you start the game, it's best that you hold onto any you can find, save up to 100 and buy the 100 bugfrag giga chip from SciLab 3/4 bugfrag trader.ĭark Chips are a mandatory purchase to complete dark chip library, which then allows you to access a blocked off mega chip Django DS or Roll DS (forgot which) in Nebula 4. Plan out your saves during Liberation Missions strategically.īugfrags are second type of currency. Untrap is worth it once you're deep enough in the Internet that you find viruses in GMD. There's not many PMDs in the game, you might as well use unlocker whenever you can. Press select to reg a chip with MB equal to or less than your regmem. HP memories are the best, chips in codes you can obtain elsewhere are the worst. In BN5 specifically, going dark isn't worth it for single player you can make use of them later on in the game when you unlock Chaos Unisons while maintaining all of the benefits of a light playthrough. Towards the end of the postgame, you can use excess ones for random chips.Īlmost all of them are extremely powerful. They're rare drops from GMD and BGMD that can be used at vendors in SciLab 3 and Undernet 2 for NCPs and chips. I just want to understand the game a bit more, without finding out that Lan was helping Nebula this entire time or some other epic plot twist. Sorry if I come across as stupid, or if this isn't allowed here. Where are the best places to use the Unlocker/UntrapperĪre there any just general tips that would be good to know going foreword? I remember something about custom chips or something when I was a kid, and that the MB on the side of the chip actually mattered for something or other, but I remember not being able to figure them out. What are some of the best ways to spend my Zenny's? And what's the worst?
So I have a couple questions.Īre any of the "DARK CHIPS" worth using? I personally just don't feel right trying them, I'll collect them just in case though. Im trying to be careful about looking things up, so I don't get spoiled on the story. For context I finished the second Liberation with Magnet Man, and have just currently stumbled onto the dark clouds. However I remember there being a ton of concepts I was confused on, and many of them I still am. I love how the randomization of a set of 30 chips makes each and every battle feel fun and fresh. I remember loving it, and I recently bought a wii u, with a good percentage of the reason being that this game was on the virtual console (yes I know I could have bought a GBA cartridge for cheaper but I wanted other vc games too). However when I was a little Kid I got "Megaman Battle Network 5 : Team Protoman for the GBA.
I find the main series games to be so exceessivly difficult I can't even beat the first room in any given level, at least in the games I tried.
